Traffic Alert: Lexington PD warns of lane closure Thursday

Lexington, SC (WOLO) — The Lexington Police Department is asking drivers to be aware of a lane closure that could cause some headaches if you are not prepared.

Police say Old Chapin Road at Columbia Avenue near West Main Street, located directly in front of the driveway of the Murphy’s Express Gas station will be closed. The closure of that lane will be in effect from 9 a.m until 4 p.m. on Thursday as crew with Dominion Energy works to repair a gas line in the area.

Authorities are asking drivers to be aware of workers who will be out there fixing that line for a good portion of the day Thursday, and to make sure if they absolutely have to go through that area, to make sure they anticipate delays. If you have the option, authorities suggest taking an alternate route to your destination to avoid any potential back ups the lane closure may cause.
