Perdue launches chicken feed product for humans

CNN– There is a new snack by the Perdue chicken company called Chix Mix.

It’s a clever approach by Perdue to combat concerns about the company’s treatment of its chickens and antibiotics in their feed.

Perdue says it does not use antibiotics in most of its chicken feed.

In a release, Perdue says its chickens “live in clean environments, have places to perch and plenty of room to move.”

The company says Chix Mix is inspired by the same vegetarian, antibiotic-free ingredients that Perdue’s chickens eat, like corn, edamame, and puffed wheat.

People will soon be able to try the new product out for themselves as it will be available to order for free on Perduechixmix.com starting on Nov.17.
