Troopers: One dead after vehicle hits pedestrian in Richland County
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A pedestrian is dead after a collision in Richland County on Thursday night, says the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
According to SCHP, the collision happened on Fairfield Road, 6 miles north of Columbia around 8:44 p.m.
Troopers say a Chevrolet SUV and a pedestrian were traveling north on Fairfield Road when the SUV hit the person in the roadway causing the person to hit two parked vehicles.
The driver of the SUV was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for injuries.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead.
The collision is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
