Lexington coroner identifies victim of Pelion area collision

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the person who died in a vehicle collision in the Pelion area of Lexington County.

The collision happened in the 6900 block of Edmund Highway in the Pelion area of Lexington County at around 4:10 p.m. on Nov. 18.

According to Coroner Fisher, Owen Dwain Harness, 65, of West Columbia was traveling westbound on Edmund Highway when he went left of the center and was hit by a vehicle traveling eastbound.

Harness was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead due to his injuries, said Coroner Fisher.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office are continuing to investigate the collision.
