One person dead after collision on highway in Orangeburg County

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– One person is dead after a fatal collision on a highway in the Midlands, says the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

According to SCHP, the collision happened on US-301 at Carriage Hill Road around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov.22.

Troopers say a 2014 Mazda driving south on US-301 and a 2003 Honda Accord was driving north on US-301 when the Honda collided with the Mazda.

The driver of the Mazda was taken by helicopter to Trident hospital and one person in the Honda was taken by helicopter to Richland ER.

Another person in the Honda Accord was pronounced dead.
