Midlands churches unite for annual Thanksgiving meal giveaway

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– St. Peter’s Catholic Church and First Baptist Church of Columbia united to make sure everybody experienced a joyful Thanksgiving.

The Thanksgiving dinner provided a meal in the Midlands to around 600 people at St. Peter’s Catholic Church.

Also, 750 meals were given to residents in assisted living as well as low-income housing.

Organizers say the Interfaith Thanksgiving dinner fosters a sense of togetherness and spreads love while sharing a meal.

Preparations for the Christmas dinner will begin soon, says organizers.
