One dead after two-vehicle collision on I-20 in Kershaw County

KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– One person is dead after a collision on I-20 East in Kershaw County says the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

According to SCHP, the two-vehicle collision happened on Sunday, Nov.26 around 7:36 p.m. near White Pond Road, 11 miles west of Camden.

Troopers say a Dodge Ram and a GMC pickup were both driving east on the highway when they collided with each other.

The driver of the GMC was pronounced deceased and the passenger in the car was taken to a nearby hospital for injuries.

Also, the driver of the Dodge Ram was taken to the hospital for injuries as well.

Kershaw County Coroner David West identified the person who died at the scene as Martin L Tokay.

Coroner West says Tokay was headed back home with his wife when the collision occurred.

An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday at the Newberry Medical Center.

The collision is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the MATT Team.
