Prisma Health held walk for 6-year-old killed in Orangeburg County hunting accident
ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Prisma Health Children’s Hospital in the Midlands held an honor walk for a 6-year-old who died after a hunting accident.
The walk was held on Monday, Nov.7 in honor of Avery Davis.
Hospital staff, family, school teachers, and others lined the hospital hallways to pay tribute to Avery.
His first-grade teachers say they’ll remember him as the life of the party, always smiling, helpful, and loved hunting.
The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources says Avery was on an elevated stand when he was hit by a stray shotgun pellet from a shooting on the ground.
The Orangeburg County coroner says he died Saturday, Nov.26 at Prisma Health Richland.
