Gamecock kicker expected to hit transfer portal

The Gamecocks may be losing their starting kicker.

Mitch Jeter, a two-year starter for USC, is expected to enter the transfer portal, according to numerous reports Thursday afternoon.

Jeter was a perfect 11-for-11 on field goal attempts in 2022 as a junior, and this past season, went 12-of-14 on field goals, while serving as the primary kickoff specialist with 41 touchbacks.

Jeter has one year of eligibility remaining after enrolling at USC in 2020.

The NCAA transfer portal officially opens for all college football players on Monday December 4.
