1 dead after Newberry County highway collision

NEWBERRY COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The South Carolina Highway Patrol says one person is dead after a collision on SC Hwy 34.

The collision occurred on Nov. 27 around 7:52 p.m. 5 miles West of Newberry.

A 1997 Ford Pickup was traveling East on the highway when it went off the right side of the road, hit a ditch, and then overturned.

The driver was taken to a local hospital by helicopter and later pronounced dead.

The collision is under investigation by the SCHP.
