Murdaugh victim speaks out after plea deal
CNN– Alex Murdaugh was sentenced on Tuesday, Nov.28 after pleading guilty to nearly two dozen financial crimes.
Murdaugh is currently serving life sentences for murdering his wife and son.
The South Carolina Attorney General says a trial on the financial crimes would have been too expensive for some counties.
But one victim argues it would have been worth it.
Thomas Moore says Murdaugh stole from him after a wreck ended his career as a patrolman.
“I think there was roughly 100 indictments on him. It could have been like 1000 years,” said Former Highway Patrolman Thomas Moore.
The attorney general’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Murdaugh still awaits sentencing for federal charges he pleaded guilty to in September.
