Troopers: 1 dead, multiple hospitalized after 6-vehicle collision in Richland County
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A multi-vehicle collision left one person dead and multiple people hospitalized on Thursday night in Richland County says state troopers.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the collision happened on Parklane Road at the intersection of Crestbrook Road around 5:36 p.m.
Six vehicles were involved in the incident:
- Vehicle One: 2003 Mercury with only a driver
- Vehicle Two: 2011 Nissan Rogue which had a driver and two passengers, one person is dead, and two are in a hospital
- Vehicle Three: 2010 Mercedes Benz which had a driver plus two passengers who all went to the hospital
- Vehicle Four: 2013 Nissan Altima with only a driver who was hospitalized
- Vehicle Five: 2008 Buick which had only a driver who was hospitalized
- Vehicle Six: Unknown
SCHP says at the time of the collision, the Mercury and the Buick were traveling West on Parklane Road while the Nissan Rouge, Benz, Altima, and the unknown vehicle were traveling East on Parklane.
Troopers say the driver of the Mercury hit all of the other vehicles.
The SCHP is still investigating the collision.
