KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an early morning shooting, said deputies.
Deputies said around 4:30 a.m. a Camden Police officer attempted to stop a speeding dark burgundy 2018 Nissan Armada near the intersection of Broad Street and DeKalb Street in Camden when the driver refused to stop and led officers to a hospital.
When the vehicle stopped two people ran away and one was taken into custody.
Three people are being treated for gunshot wounds.
Investigators said a call they received around 4:40 a.m. is connected to the shooting and the victims at the hospital.
During the call, a woman said she was shot in the head while driving a silver 2016 Chevrolet Impala and was parked on the side of I-20 West near the 104-mile marker when she made the call.
She was taken to the emergency room, treated, and released for a non-life-threatening head injury.
The sheriff’s office said both vehicles and all of the people were connected.
Also, both vehicles have multiple gunshot holes in them.
Investigators are not sure where the shooting took place but say the victims stated they were returning from a gentlemen’s club on Broad River Road in Columbia.
The victims also stated the shooting happened somewhere on I-20 between Broad River Road in Columbia near Exit 65 and Jamestown Road in Bishopville near Exit 108.
