Sumter County: Deputies arrest two people in connection with November murder

SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Two people have been arrested in connection with a murder in Sumter County, say officers.

According to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call about shots being fired near Rogers Avenue and Seminole Road on Sunday night, Nov. 26, 2023.

When deputies arrived at the scene they discovered the body of Shaquan Malik Logan who had succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.

On Thursday afternoon, Nov. 30, 2023, Sumter County deputies executed a search warrant and arrested Lamont Ortiz-Bossie who is the suspect in the murder of Logan.

He was charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Investigators say Savannah Patrick was interviewed and charged as an accessory after the fact due to her involvement.

Both Ortiz-Bossie and Patrick were taken to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.

Ortiz-Bossie’s bond was denied and Patrick’s cash bond was set at $10,000.

“Our investigators are hard-working, dedicated, and thorough. You can be sure that they are continuing to gather facts to reveal the truth and bring justice for the victim and his family,” Sheriff Anthony Dennis says.
