Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)–South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson says he has joined a coalition calling on media outlets to stop paying journalists with ties to terrorist organizations.
Wilson added his name to a letter demanding that, going forward, media outlets make sure that they are not paying journalists associated with terrorist organizations and strengthen their vetting process.
The letter comes after a report in the New York Times in which Israeli officials accused a freelance photographers for organizations including the Times, the AP, and CNN of having prior knowledge of the October 7th Hamas attack that killed 14-hundred people.

“If media outlets are paying people who have ties to terrorist groups, they’re no longer sharing news, they’re involved in propaganda and literally aiding and abetting terrorism,” Attorney General Wilson said. “It should be common sense that media outlets should not be paying to aid terrorists.”
The New York times denies the claim.
