Create holiday memories at 21st annual Saluda Shoals Holiday Lights on the River
COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)- The Midlands’ largest drive-thru light show is back this holiday season at Saluda Shoals Park!
Holiday Lights on the River is celebrating it’s 21st year with even better lights and experiences for a night of family fun. Take a drive through nearly 3 miles of millions of sparkling animated light displays of all shapes and sizes!
Mark Smyers, the Executive Director of the Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission says they plan for this event all year long, and production starts as far back as Labor Day weekend! “It takes a lot to put this whole production on, but we’ve got an amazing team that works super hard and are very creative, and we look forward to it every year. It’s a monumental task, but at the same time, it only takes a couple of those wonderful family moments where a little one rolls down a window and screams Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays. It makes it all worth it.”
Midway through the holiday lights, visitors can park and experience another winter wonderland filled with a fun tube slide, a hayride, a laser light show, a gift shop, sweet treats, and even visits with Santa on select nights.
Santa will visit Holiday Lights December 8-9, and December 15-23. Professional photos and photo packages will be available for purchase.
Admission is $25 a car and includes the holiday lights and all the activities! The show begins at 6pm and will run all the way until the last car drives through.
