SHOP WITH A COP: SC Highway Patrol partners to give Merry Christmas to grieving families

FOREST ACRES, SC (WOLO) — For those who have lost a loved one this year., the holidays can be a difficult time.

Thursday afternoon, South Carolina troopers along with Walmart teamed up to provide a Merry Christmas to some grieving families in our state.

In total, 130 children shopped with state troopers at 7 Walmart locations around the state. Midlands families met at the Walmart on Forest Drive. 

Each child received an $150 gift card made possible by donations to the South Carolina Troopers Association.

Colonel Christopher Williamson and the families at Thursday’s event remind everyone to not drink and drive this holiday season.
