Father, Son accused in deadly shooting of man with machete

Lexington Co., SC (WOLO) — Lexington County deputies say a father and son are accused of shooting a man to death Wednesday afternoon. According to authorities, 52 year old Ryan Lindler Sr. told his son, 26 year old Ryan Lindler Jr. to shoot a man after officials say they disarmed him of a machete.

Lexington deputies say the victim, now identified by the Lexington County Coroner as Kevin Newhouse was unarmed at the time of the deadly shooting and lived in close proximity to the Lindlers along Seleta Circle. During interviews with both suspects, deputies say they determined, the three men were involved in a fight just after officials say they kept Newhouse from being able to leave and go back to his home.

Deputies say the incident stemmed from a confrontation over trespassing. According to an arrest warrant both men are charged with Murder and Use of a Firearm during a Violent Crime. They are currently being held at the Lexington County Detention Center after they were denied bond.
