On the Road to a Brighter Holiday- local nonprofit ASA fundraising to help families in need of auto repairs
COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)- ‘Tis the season of giving, and one local nonprofit organization needs your help to drive change in the lives of Midlands’ families in need.
Automotive Service Assistance (ASA) is on a mission to improve the quality of life for individuals and families through affordable car repairs and maintenance, on a sliding scale fee based on income. The nonprofit aims to empower individuals and communities by ensuring transportation barriers do not limit their potential.
This holiday season, they’re introducing their inaugural Adopt-a-Family program to help local families get back on the road to a brighter holiday! For many, the holiday season is a time of joy and celebration, but for some, it’s a period marked by challenges and hardships. One of the most significant of these challenges is transportation.
ASA identified families within the community who are struggling with transportation issues. These are families like the Griffiths, who faced a tough summer after their car broke down, or the Patels, a single mother juggling education and raising five children without a working vehicle. Each of these families has a story, a struggle, and a hope for a better tomorrow. Click here to learn more about the four families in need and how to donate.
By supporting the Adopt-a-Family program, you’re not just repairing a car; you’re restoring independence, dignity, and opportunity. You’re helping parents get to work, children get to school, and families access the services they desperately need. Your donation is a gift of mobility and freedom, offering a brighter future where the road ahead is filled with possibilities.
General donations to ASA go directly to local repair facilities to cover the costs of necessary repairs, including engine fixes, brake replacements, tire replacements, and more. This assistance ensures that those facing financial hardships can keep their vehicles on the road and maintain their independence.
ASA is also holding a Christmas tree disposal fundraising event this month. Click here to learn more.
