Riverbanks Zoo Looking For “brew At The Zoo” Volunteers

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)– Officials with Riverbanks Zoo and Garden say the park was temporarily placed on secure status after a report of shots fired on nearby Candi Ln.

A zoo spokesperson says there were more than 600 people in the park at the time for the Wild Lights holiday program and more than 100 at the gate.

No injuries have been reported.

Zoo officials say the all-clear was given a short time later and the lockdown lifted.

ABC Columbia has reached out to the Columbia Police Department for further information.
