City of Columbia hosting violent crime remembrance vigil
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The City of Columbia Office of Violent Crime Prevention is hosting a remembrance vigil to show the victims, survivors and the families affected by violence that they are not forgotten, said city officials.
The event is to offer support and educate the community on violent crime statistics.
Also the event will raise awareness while sharing updates about upcoming violence prevention initiatives and to keep the public health and public safety issue of gun violence front and center throughout the city, said officials.
The vigil will be held on Friday, Dec. 29, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. at the Busby Street Community Center.
