Loaded gun found in teachers’ work room at elementary school

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The Richland County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a weapon found on a school’s property on Monday night, said RCSD.

RCSD said deputies were alerted about the weapon by Round Top Elementary school’s assistant principal around 5 p.m. on Dec.11, 2023.

A loaded weapon was located in the teachers’ work room by the evening custodian.

Deputies said the weapon was collected and placed it into evidence.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
