2 inmates attempt escape from Richland County detention center
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) –Two women inmates attempted to escape from the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center (ASGDC) on Wednesday afternoon through an ‘exit point’, said Richland county officials.
Officials said the attempted escape happened around 3:50 p.m. on Dec.13.
Five minutes later the women were taken back into custody by the detention center security staff, said officials.
An incident report states the inmates created an exit point in the ceiling of Delta Dorm where a tile was missing and then gained access to a contractor vehicle but were recaptured before they could depart the area.
