Body found near Amazon warehouse is identified

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help finding Jerrold George Dejean after he was last seen by his family on Thursday, say deputies.

Lexington Co., SC (WOLO) — The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a body found near an Amazon warehouse along the 12th Street Extension.

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher identified the body as Jerrold George DeJean,19, of Gaston.

Authorities say his body was found in a retention pond by a kayaker near the warehouse after he was reported missing last Thursday, Nov 30.

His cause of death has not yet been released but an autopsy scheduled at MUSC in Charleston will happen on Dec. 15.
