SLED charges 5 people with human trafficking
WEST COLUMBIA. S.C. (WOLO)– The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is charging five people in South Carolina with human trafficking, said SLED.
According to agents, Rebecca Melanie Perry, 29, Antonio Marquis Nicholson, 56, Terrell Counts, 32, and Monesha Tatayana Lapri Gary, 24, were all arrested in relation to an ongoing human trafficking investigating.
According to arrest warrants obtained by ABC Columbia News, all of the suspects are accused of either recruiting, or trafficking victims under the age of 18 knowing they would be forced to perform sex acts in exchange for pay dating back to February of this year.
Arrest warrants say the incidents took place over a two month span of time as the aforementioned suspects worked out of the Home Towne Studios and Suites Columbiana.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department, Columbia Police Department, West Columbia Police Department, Darlington County Sheriff’s Office, Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, Horry County Sheriff’s Office, Myrtle Beach Police Department, along with Homeland Security are assisting with the ongoing investigation.
