RCSD: Missing father, daughter found dead in Calhoun County

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A father and daughter who was last seen on Saturday were found deceased in Calhoun County, say RCSD.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department say 6-year-old Michelle Murph and her father, Jason Murph were found on Lavender Lane near exit 136 off I-26.

Around 12 p.m. investigators located Jason Murph’s truck and continued the search for the pair.

Shortly after finding the truck, Orangeburg County’s K9 unit found Jason and Michelle Murph’s bodies around 100 yards away, say deputies.

RCSD worked with the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department and the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Department to find the father and daughter.

The investigation is still ongoing.

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)–The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help locating a missing child and her father.

Deputies say 6-year-old Michelle Murph and her father Jason Murph were last heard from on Saturday, Dec. 16, at around 8 p.m. near US-301, near Calhoun County.

Jason Murph is bald, has a beard, brown eyes, a medium complexion, 6 feet tall and weighs 220 pounds.

Investigators say he drives a silver Toyota Tundra.

Murph’s wife told investigators she received a call around 8 p.m. and believed that the two might have been involved in a car accident and in need of help.
