SLED charges Lexington County man with financial identity fraud
LEXINGTON, COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A Lexington County man has been charged with financial identity fraud on Tuesday, say SLED.
Agents with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) say Samuel Wayne Price was charged on Tuesday, Dec. 12.
Price is accused of receiving 29 weekly checks between October 5, 2021 and May 2, 2022 for his personal use without permission from the victim.
Agents say he received $12,498 by cashing or depositing the checks using his own bank account or CashApp card.
He was taken to the Lexington County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the South Carolina Department of Insurance.
