City officials hold ribbon cutting for new Saluda River access point

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Anyone looking to enjoy the Saluda River has a new access point.

On Wednesday morning the City of Columbia cut the ribbon on a new access point on Candi Lane.

Officials say the access point will increase river accessibility for canoes, kayaks and other non-motorized boats and enhance water/safety recreation at one of the most popular locations at the Saulda River.

The Saluda, Congaree and Broad Rivers that converge in Columbia have been one of the driving economic engines and most popular attractions in the area for decades.
