LEXINGTON, S.C. (WOLO)– A former Lexington County deputy is accused of driving under the influence and a hit-and-run on Tuesday night, says the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
State troopers arrested 52-year-old Terry Govan at his house after they say he went there following a crash near his subdivision’s entrance.
No one was reported as hurt in the collision.
Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon says Govan was terminated on Tuesday night from his place of employment since 2001.
He was taken to the Lexington County Detention Center on Tuesday night and released on Wednesday after appearing before a magistrate judge.
