Coroner releases name of driver dead after single-vehicle Newberry County collision

NEWBERRY COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A driver is dead after a single-vehicle Monday morning collision in Newberry County, said state troopers.

The collision happened on Ira Kinard Road about four miles south of Prosperity around 7:50 a.m. on Dec. 18.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a 2000 Toyota traveling west on Ira Kinard Road went off the right side of the road, then it went off the left side of the road and hit some trees.

Newberry County Coroner Laura Kneece has identified the individual as David R. Nassef, 60, of Columbia.

The collision is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Newberry County Coroner’s Office.
