Coroner: Father, daughter died of hypothermia

Calhoun Co., S.C. (WOLO)– The Calhoun Co. Coroner’s office says a father and daughter from Richland Co. who were later found dead died from hypothermia.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department announced on Dec. 18th,  6-year-old Michelle Murph and her father, Jason Murph were found on Lavender Lane near exit 136 off I-26 in Calhoun Co.

Calhoun Co. Coroner Donnie Porth tells ABC Columbia News the autopsies were inconclusive but that he believes the man and the child died from hypothermia due to exposure to the elements.

Porth says there were no signs of trauma and foul play is not suspected.
