Pedestrian dead after collision on Orangeburg highway

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A pedestrian is dead after a collision on an Orangeburg highway, said state troopers.

The collision happened on US-601 at St. Matthews Road, about three miles north of Orangeburg around 2:06 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 21.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a pedestrian was crossing the street on US-601 when the pedestrian was hit by a 2003 Crown Victoria.

The pedestrian was taken to a nearby hospital and later pronounced as dead.
