Police investigating after man found dead inside parked car, say Sumter Police
SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO)– A 21-year-old man was found dead inside a parked car on Friday night in Sumter, said police.
The Sumter Police said officers responded to a call around 9:30 p.m. and found Jamal Ta’Rek Thames dead inside a car parked outside of a Manning Avenue business next to a nightclub.
Officers say no one with information about what happened came forward after they arrived.
But several shell casings were found in the area.
Investigators say information gathered so far indicates a fight between a group of people preceded the gunfire.
