Funeral for father, daughter found dead on side of road scheduled for Saturday

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A father and his 6-year-old daughter who were found dead last week will be laid to rest this weekend.

Jason and Michelle Murph’s funeral starts on Saturday, Dec. 30 at 11 a.m.

The funeral will be held at Simmons Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Orangeburg.

A public viewing will be held on Friday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

On December 18, Richland County deputies said they were found dead on the side of a road in Calhoun County about 100 yards away from Jason’s wrecked truck.

Calhoun county Coroner Donnie Porth believes they both died of Hypothermia due to exposure to the elements.

Porth says the autopsies were inconclusive but there were no signs of trauma and foul play is not suspected.
