LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is warning residents about a phone scam where someone is pretending to be a deputy, said the sheriff’s office.

According to the sheriff’s department, scammers pretending to be deputies call victims about arrest warrants, jury duty or speeding tickets.

The department said they will not call about those topics and suggests that anyone who receives a call like this should end the call and block the number.
