McMaster issues proclamation for SC Interfaith Harmony Month
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– January is Interfaith Harmony Month in South Carolina.
Governor Henry McMaster issued the proclamation on Thursday at the State House.
The proclamation calls for South Carolinians to work together to foster compassion and appreciation for the different faiths, beliefs and cultures found in the Palmetto State.
Officials say S.C. Interfaith Harmony Month began in 2013 as a project of Interfaith Partners of South Carolina (IPSC) to offer a diverse series of programs and religious services to give visitors a chance to learn about the many religions practiced in South Carolina.
There are several events scheduled for Interfaith Harmony Month, like self-guided tours, the introduction to Nichiren Buddhism and many more events.
