More Americans can now get insulin for $35
(CNN)– Insulin is becoming more affordable for millions of diabetics.
Starting on Monday, Jan.1, 2024, Sandi’s Lantus, the most prescribed insulin in the U.S. will be capped at $35 a month for many patients.
In 2023, the nation’s two other major insulin manufacturers Novo Nordic and Eli Lilly also reduced their insulin prices.
About eight-and-a-half-million Americans rely on insulin to survive.
As many as 25% of patients haven’t been able to afford their medicine.
