‘Grinding of the Greens’ is not being held this year

Columbia, SC (WOLO) — It’s day two of the new year, and if you are looking to get rid of your Christmas tree
the popular ‘Grinding of the Greens’ will not take place this year.

A spokesperson for Keep the Midlands Beautiful says the organization will not host the annual Grinding of the Greens, which grinds Christmas trees into mulch.

Instead, the organization recommends reaching out to your county’s solid waste division for more on how you can recycle your tree.
