2023 flight cancellation rate lowest in 10 years

(CNN)– 2023 had the lowest rate of flight cancellations in the last decade.
The transportation Department says the year closed out with just over 16 million flights and a cancellation rate below 1.2%.
The department noted travel at the end of the year was relatively smooth.
Between December 17 and New Year’s Day.
The cancellation rate was less than 1%.
During the same period in 2022 it was 8%
2023 also broke records as the busiest year of travel.
