(CNN)– A new study found nearly 300-thousand lives could be saved in ten years if every state passed gun laws similar to California and New York.
The gun violence prevention group, Everytown for Gun Safety found New York and California had the lowest gun death rates in the country.
They are 5.3 and 8.7 per 100 thousand residents.
