RCSD investigating early morning stabbing at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an early Sunday morning stabbing at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, says RCSD.

Richland County deputies say an inmate was found beaten and stabbed at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center yesterday.

Deputies say before 2 a.m. they found the inmate was beaten in the head and stabbed multiple times.

He was taken to the hospital.

Two other inmates who tried to break up the fight were also treated for their injuries.

Investigators say at the time of the incident there was no guard in the dorm because he left to get supplies for another inmate.

This incident remains under investigation.
