Newberry County deputies warn community of driveway paving, sealing scam

NEWBERRY COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The Newberry County Sheriff’s Office is warning people about a driveway paving/sealing scam that has arrived back to the area, say deputies.
According to Newberry County investigators, there have been reports of a person or persons showing up stating they have done paving for Newberry County and have asphalt or sealant left over and will sell it at a discounted price.
They may even say they paved an unnamed neighbor’s driveway in the area, say investigators.
Investigators say the scam should not be trusted and remember if you feel this activity sounds too good to be true call Law Enforcement.
Around lunch time today, deputies located the crew going around with the scam.
Law enforcement says the crew has left the area.
