USC, Clemson join statewide initiative giving technical school transfers easy transfer access

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Students at state technical schools now have a better chance of becoming Gamecocks or Tigers.

On Thursday morning, Governor Henry McMaster and higher education officials announced a new transfer agreement between the South Carolina Technical College System and the state’s two largest research institutions, Clemson and USC.

Officials say the agreement will streamline the process for everyone involved.

A key aspect of the agreement is a reverse transfer credit option enabling credits earned at the university to be transferred back to the SCTCS college for the completion of an associate degree.

“I thank the University of South Carolina, Clemson University, and the South Carolina Technical College System for their collaboration on this important initiative that will greatly benefit our people and state,” said Governor Henry McMaster.
