Fairfield County coroner releases name of second victim of wrong way I-77 collision

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Fairfield County Coroner Chris Hill has released the name of the second victim involved in a wrong way accident on I-77 near mile marker 31, says the coroner’s office.

According to Coroner Hill, Jessica Eva Dawson, age 30, from Burlington, ON Canada, was the restrained driver of a vehicle that was traveling northbound on I-77 on Saturday, Jan. 6.

Dawson’s vehicle was hit head on by a wrong way driver that was traveling south bound on the interstate.

She was taken to Prisma Health Richland Memorial where she was later pronounced dead due to her injuries on Thursday night, Jan. 11.

This collision remains under investigation by Fairfield County Coroner’s Office and South Carolina Highway Patrol.
