Grocery prices rose slightly at end of 2023

(CNN)– Eating at home is getting a lot cheaper.

The consumer price index shows food at home prices only rose 1.3% last year.

That’s a net drop relative to 3.4% inflation.

It’s a well-deserved break from prices that rose 11.8% the previous year.

However eating out is still going to cost you more as food prices tied to restaurants and vending machines went up 5.2%.
