Kershaw County hosts MLK Unity Day Celebration

Kershaw County, SC (WOLO) — Just ahead of the national holiday honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Junior, Kershaw County will host a celebration for members of the public this weekend.

The MLK Unity Day Celebration will be held Saturday January 13, 2024 beginning with a Unity March that will kick off at 11 am starting at the African American Cultural Center at 517 York Street in Camden, SC. Those in attendance will march from there to the Camden City Hall along Littleton Street beginning at 12 noon.

Those who plan on attending can expect to hear from various speakers including various Camden students from Grade school up to High School giving speaking about the importance of the historic day from their perspective. Bishop Gary Revus from Littleton United Methodist Church is also slated to speak during the Saturday afternoon’s event.
