Former Furman head football coach Art Baker, known as instrumental in the success of Paladin football, has died at 94.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Former Furman head football coach Art Baker, known as instrumental in the success of Paladin football, has died at 94.
Baker, appointed in 1972, led a transformative era, earning a spot in the South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame in 1995.
Current coach Clay Hendrix offered comforting words in reflection of Baker’s everlasting influence, stating, “Paladins everywhere will always appreciate the impact he had on our program.”
