Psychiatric hospital escapee back in custody

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– New details regarding a detainee who managed to escape custody late Friday night from Brian Psychiatric Hospital.

According to Richland County officials, the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center director received word the detainee was successfully recovered by the Columbia Police Department and is now back in custody.

Officials have not yet said how the detainee escaped but county officials say they are waiting on an incident report from the hospital.
