Richland Co., SC (WOLO) — Congratulations are in order for several students in the Richland One school district who have been chosen to take their musical skills statewide.

According to the Richland School District One, seven students who were previously chosen for the Midlands Region Orchestra, have now been selected to join the South Carolina Music Educators Association (SCMEA) All-State Orchestra after trying out for the positions at Irmo High School at the beginning of the month.

Richland One’s lead orchestra teacher Brian McCants commented on the students selected for the chance to showcase their talent saying,

“Being selected for the All-State Orchestra is an opportunity to perform with the best students in the state. Students are able to hear other players that challenge and compliment their abilities”.
