LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A Midlands man was arrested on three charges connected to the sexual exploitation of a minor, says the Attorney General’s Office.

Robert Earl Wessinger, Jr., 60, of Chapin, S.C., was arrested by the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and investigators from the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department on January 11, 2024.

Investigators say they received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) which led them to Wessinger.

Investigators state Wessinger distributed files of child sexual abuse material.

He is charged with three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, second degree (§16-15-405), a felony offense punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment on each charge.
